Your stay begins on Thursday evening in Bank Barn, where you’ll enjoy our Beaujolais Celebration Dinner. A generous French country feast, inspired by the traditional bistros of France, is served alongside specially selected Beaujolais wines as we celebrate the arrival of the year’s new vintage.

You’ll learn the traditional art of lino printing as you design and hand-print your own collection of beautiful Christmas cards to take home.
After a restful overnight stay and a leisurely Cumbrian breakfast, return to the Hall for a festive wreath-making workshop led by Askham Hall’s Head Gardener Diane Butcher. Using seasonal foliage and natural materials inspired by the gardens, you’ll create your own handcrafted wreath before enjoying a two-course lunch with a glass of wine in the Hall.

For smaller gatherings, our Old Dining Room within the historic Hall offers a more intimate setting, full of character and warmth. Planning a festive get-together, work do or end-of-year celebration? Make The Queen’s Head your own for the night. Available Monday to Wednesday from 6th to 19th December and also select dates in January. Enjoy exclusive use of our cosy pub from 5.30–11pm. For a minimum spend of £720 (that’s 30 guests at £25 each), your group will enjoy handmade pizzas, a selection of sides, and a welcome glass of fizz or beer. Extra guests welcome (up to 50 total) at £25 person. Bedrooms are available from £100 bed and breakfast, and we’ll throw in 10% off pre-booked wines to keep the good cheer flowing.
