Conference and Meeting Facilities at Askham Hall

We offer excellent facilities for private board meetings, large conference meetings, interviews, product launches, presentations, training and team building. Askham Hall is conveniently located only 10 minutes from Penrith (mainline railway), the M6 and A66, yet is totally secluded in a quiet and beautiful part of the Lake District.

Askham Hall is located in the heart of the Lowther estate, a short walk from Lowther Castle and the river Lowther and benefits from lovely views out over the river and up through the Estate parkland to Knipe Scar. It is also only a half hour walk up to the top of Askham Fell where you have panoramic views right out across Lake Ullswater and the Lake District. Your delegates will feel inspired from the moment they arrive. With 18 individually styled bedrooms and an award winning restaurant, you can also make the most of a business get together after your meetings have finished too.

For those looking for privacy, Askham Hall is totally hidden from the outside with high walls and a private entrance.

Meeting Spaces

Old Chapel – Boardroom Style 6-18 people

The Old Chapel, located in one of the oldest parts of the house, is the perfect space for smaller meetings and get-togethers. It boasts wood panelled walls, a large open fireplace and looks out onto the knot garden.

Best suited for smaller groups. Please discuss your AV requirements on bookings. This space is suitable for wheelchair users.

Medieval Hall – 18-80 people in different styles

The Medieval Hall in a larger space within the courtyard of the main house on the first floor. It connects directly to the bedrooms and dates back to the 1400s with original oak beams. It is well heated with central heating and 2 large fireplaces.

Best suited for small to medium sized groups. A well-stocked bar may also be available depending on the size of your party. Please discuss your AV and sound requirements upon booking. Please note this space is not suitable for wheelchair users.

Bank Barn – up to 150 people in different styles

Bank Barn is our largest space, ideal for conferencing of up to 150 people. This is a beautifully restored 18C barn, with original oak beams and larger glass doors and windows.

Best suited for medium to large sized groups. Please discuss your AV and sound requirements upon booking. This space is suitable for wheelchair users.
