Take a stroll through our beautiful gardens of Askham Hall with views of the River Lowther, visit our animals and enjoy something delicious in our Kitchen Garden Café.
The Grade II listed gardens are full of stunning features, including colourful terraces, a 230ft long double herbaceous border, unusual species of plants, formal lawns, kitchen gardens, woodland, meadows and ponds. Take in the impressive views down to the River Lowther and enjoy the secluded spots and peaceful corners of the garden. You can also buy plants to take home.
Kitchen Garden Café
In the grounds of Askham Hall, tucked away in part of a converted Grade II listed barn is a quirky, atmospheric stylish café serving morning coffees, light lunches and afternoon teas. In the spring and summer months (during peak times) pizzas from the outdoor wood-fired oven are served. You can relax in front of our log burning stove or enjoy the sunshine in our secluded garden. We have recently extended the outdoor seating area to include the pretty apple orchard.
Askham Hall is also home to rare breed pigs, goats, shorthorn cattle and ducks, which you can often see from the animal viewing and children’s play area.
Our gardens and Café are currently open Friday to Sunday 11am to 4pm.* Garden entry is currently £3.50 per adult. For 12 – 17 year olds entry is £1.50 and children under 12 are free. You do not need to pay garden entry to visit the café and animals.
